An Art-full Week
Monday: Nathan didn't get enough of Easter egg dying fun at Mamaw's house, so I boiled up another batch to decorate. I even tried to teach him about mixing colors to make new ones, but all he wanted to do was mix them all together to make brown.
Tuesday: We went to the art show at the school district offices to see Margaret's work displayed. She painted one of the historic churches in downtown.
Thursday: PTA hosted "Art Night", with many different artsy activities. The best was making pots on the pottery wheel.

Milestones
We track the major milestones in our child's life...walking, talking, potty training. But this is a major milestone that every mom waits for....when your child can keep the swing going all by himself!

Spring Break 2008
We spent the first part of Spring Break at Beavers Bend State Park in Oklahoma. We camped for 6 days, with only 30 hours of heavy rain in the middle. Never fear, Papa and Grandma were nearby with their RV and we spent the time inside playing games. During the non-rainy time, we had fun hiking up waterfalls and hills, trout fishing, riding bikes, visiting the animals at the Nature Center, and generally just hanging out by the campsite.

What we do for entertainment
I finally got a new vacuum cleaner. Instead of trying to sell the old one, we gave it to the kids with a pile of screwdrivers and told them to have at it. The both worked on it for about 30 minutes. Nathan got bored after awhile and moved on...
...but Margaret was focused. She spent another hour that night working on taking it apart and then some the next day.
Now, the question is - what can we build with the motor?
Meanwhile, Kyle was working on another brilliant idea. We had one of the magnum wine bottles left over from our party a few weeks ago sitting in the dining room next to a lamp. He thought - hey those are about the same size. So he bought a lamp kit and proceeded to assemble it in the wine bottle. When he was done, we simultaneously had this vision:
So now, my friends, it is time for you to vote. Picture the lamp with a nicer lampshade. Tacky or treasure? You make the call.

Snow fun, part 2
Tuesday: woke up to snow
Wednesday: sunny - went to the park with no coat
Thursday: snow again???
Picked up the kids a little early from school because this is what it looked like outside
We got another 2+ inches - this time the snow wasn't powdery, but a slushy mess. Still fun to play with all the neighborhood kids.
One of the boys was even working on a snow fort that we had to check out.

Snow Fun!
Who would have thought we would have snow in March? We went to bed last night with this...
and woke up this morning with this!
Over 4" of powdery snow - perfect for Snow Angels and Snow Dogs...
and sledding (in a ski tube)
The kids were very excited - school was delayed for 2 hours, so we played all morning. But Sandy was the most excited. At first, she was quite confused and barked at the window, then she was hesitant, then she had the time of her life running around, rolling around, and biting the snow.
