Award Winning M&M's

Margaret was given the Principal's award today. It is awarded to two students per grade level each month for good citizenship and work ethic. She was totally surprised by the award because the teacher emailed us instead of sending home a note in her folder. Even more surprising was that the other award winner was her best friend Michaela!

Krewe of Barkus 2009

Last year, we had so much fun watching the dog parade. So, when our church decided to BE in the parade this year as a group, we had to say yes.

There is Sandy's big debut in the parade. Isn't she pretty? We were quite busy throwing beads and dog biscuits and trying to keep Sandy with us instead of going into the crowd. And here is our fan club!

Funky Tut

All the 3rd grade GT kids in the district got to take a field trip to the King Tut exhibit so I was excited to go along to chaperone. Here is Margaret's class with their teacher.
Posing outside with the giant Anubis guarding the museum:
Shhh - don't tell Kierstin I posted this picture - she was so embarassed of it afterwards, but I think it's cute!

And yes, the whole time we were on the trip, Steve Martin's song about King Tut was running through my head.

Weekend in Nac

We made a roadtrip to Nac to visit the cousins and see their beautiful new house. The kids had a great time playing the whole weekend. Here are Margaret, Lilly and Daniel in both ends of a bedroll:
While Nathan was off playing with the Bucket 'o Weapons:
And this is a picture of where we went hiking all weekend - in their amazing backyard of 5 wooded acres. It was hard to not be just a little envious of that!
