We Rock!

For Margaret's 9th birthday party, we had 12 girls over for a Camp Rock themed party. They got to sing and dance (on our custom built stage in the garage) and have pizza, ice cream sundaes and a juice bar. They had fun and most of the girls didn't want to leave when 9pm came around.

Living History

Every year, the 3rd graders put on the "Living History Museum" where the students dress up as a historical figure they chose to study and give an oral presentation for all the student and parent visitors. Margaret has planned for over a year to be Laura Ingalls Wilder (which is great, since she already has the outfit!).

Award Winning M&M's

Margaret was given the Principal's award today. It is awarded to two students per grade level each month for good citizenship and work ethic. She was totally surprised by the award because the teacher emailed us instead of sending home a note in her folder. Even more surprising was that the other award winner was her best friend Michaela!

Candy Cane Classic

The meet was a problem from the start. First of all we found out our time got scheduled for early on Sunday morning on Kyle's birthday. Nathan woke up early with a sore throat so Kyle ended up taking him to Acute Kids to get tested for strep throat insead of coming to the meet (it was negative). Margaret got off to a good start on floor, but ended up missing her shoot-though on the bars and her beam dismount. But she and the rest of the girls still had a good time and the team ended up winning the second place trophy.

Who needs new toys when you have an old videocamera?

Science Fair

Margaret did her science project this year on "How to keep a Jack-o'-lantern from rotting". The answer? Vaseline beat out acrylic spray and hand sanitizer. But the worst was the control:
